Black Star Drum Line

The hip hop drum group, Black Star Drum Line, was founded in 2008 by music producer, drummer, educator, and Madison Scouts Alum, Joey Banks. The Black Star Drum Line is part of the D.R.U.M. program (Diversity, Respect, Unity, Music), which is a program developed by Joey Banks for the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County on Madison's west side neighborhood.

The program teaches young children between the ages of 9-15 years old diversity, respect, unity through music, and discipline, through the very technical drum corps style of drumming and performance. The most dedicated talented members in the D.R.U.M program are selected to perform in the Black Star Drum Line.

Racine Kilties Drum & Bugle Corps

The Kilties' performance at Rockin' For A Cure is becoming a tradition, which shouldn't come as a surprise to those who know Kilties Director, Scott Stewart's efforts to support the benefit over the years. This will be the 3rd year the group comes from Racine to perform their eclectic mix of jazz, rock, and Scottish traditional. They will play selections from their 2013 show, which includes the classic rock sounds of Santana, The Beatles and the Everly Brothers including "Everybody's Everything," "Yesterday/Eleanor Rigby" and "Bye, Bye Love."

The Kilties are an all-age co-educational drum and bugle corps focused on education and mentorship. The Kilties participate in rehearsals and performances on a weekend-only schedule which allows members to attend school, work and spend time with family. Members range in age from high school through adult. Our core values are character, honor, excellence and tradition.

Jim Eutizzi, Guest of Honor

Jim is an extraordinary man. Like others we know who have battled ALS, Jim is undergoing a daily transformation to the new normal, living with a diagnosis of ALS. He is supported by many loving family members, caregivers, new and old friends, as well as the outstanding staff of The ALS Association Wisconsin Chapter. However, Jim is giving to all of us in so many ways and especially through his public speaking and advocacy for ALS research. Jim has been an outspoken educator and fundraiser for ALS, speaking before many crowds and engaging people of all kinds. Jim Eutizzi was also a drummer, and so, -- for many of us in the Rockin' For  A Cure family, we have a special connection to Jim, as we have all been part of the great musical tradition that is the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. The founder of Rockin' For A Cure, Steve Weekes, was an excellent drummer and a great member of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps. We are honored that Jim Eutizzi has chosen to help us with our ALS mission and honor the memory of Steve Weekes, and we extend the warmest of welcomes to Jim from the Madison Scouts Alumni and the Rockin' For A Cure Community. Jim....You'll Never Walk Alone
